A brilliant red northern cardinal perched on an evergreen tree limb is hand-painted on a wood slice ornament!  Decked out in its holiday red feathers, this ornament speaks to the Christmas spirit.  I painted a starry night with a silhouette of birds roosting in a tree on the back of this ornament.  This cardinal ornament was inspired by my own nature photography, not only will it look beautiful on your Christmas tree, but would also be a great gift for friends and family! 

The size of this northern cardinal ornament is approximately 3 1/2 inches in height, 3 1/2 inches in width, and 3/8 inches thick.  I paint with acrylics, and seal the entire ornament with a water-based polycrylic to prevent the wood slice from cracking and the paint from chipping.  I have threaded jute twine through the ornament so it's ready for hanging.
