A wood slice ornament with a hand-painted brilliant red northern cardinal would be a beautiful addition to your Christmas tree, or the perfect gift for friends or family. Northern cardinals are common backyard birds and are a favorite among bird lovers. A hand-painted starry night sky with bird and tree silhouettes is on the back of the ornament.
This handmade ornament is approximately 3 1/2 inches in height, 3 1/2 inches in width, and 3/8 inches thick, which works perfectly with a range of tree sizes. I used acrylics to paint the wood slice and added a light coat of polycrylic to preserve the integrity of the wood and paint. Jute twine is threaded through the ornament for hanging.
