Belted kingfishers are beautiful birds, and I have featured a hand-painted female belted kingfisher on a wood slice Christmas ornament. The ornament provides both rustic and nature aesthetics to your Christmas tree! The back of the ornament has a hand-painted lone evergreen in the snow with the natural wood grain of the slice as the background. Belted kingfishers are a favorite bird among wildlife and nature photographers, so this would be a wonderful gift for anyone with those hobbies.
The ornament size is approximately 3 1/2 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches wide, and 3/8 inches thick. I painted the ornament with acrylics and later sealed the ornament with polycrylic once the paint had cured. Sealing prevents the ornament from fading, cracking and chipping. Jute twine has been added for hanging.
