The common loon, a popular water bird in the eastern United States, is hand-painted on this wood slice Christmas ornament.  The blue water and sky gives an added pop of color to your holiday decorations.  I added an evergreen tree in the snow on the back of the ornament, and left the natural wood grain as the background.  Not only are handmade ornaments a nice addition to your holiday decor, but they are also great gifts for any occasion! 

  • The ornament in the product picture is the one you will receive!
  • Wood type - pine
  • Ornament size - approximately 3 1/2 inches in height, 3 1/2 inches in width, and 3/8 inches thick
  • I use acrylics for painting, and seal the ornament with a water-based polycrylic.  This prevents the wood from cracking and the paint from chipping.
  • Jute twine is threaded through the ornament for hanging
