Inspired by my original photography, I created a wood slice Christmas ornament with a cute hand-painted tufted titmouse on a cedar branch! The tufted titmouse actually has gray feathers but they often look blue in certain light, so I went with the blue feather color for this painting. The back of this ornament was completed with an evergreen tree, with the rings of the wood slice as the background.
This is one of my smaller wood slices and measures approximately 3 inches in diameter and is 3/8 inches thick. The bird and tree were painted with acrylics. The ornament is sealed with a light coat of water-based polycrylic which ensures the integrity and longevity of the wood slice and paint. Jute twine is threaded through the ornament for hanging. A great gift for the bird lovers in your life!
